The default WM is KDE. What I'd like the login screen to allow is a remote login to any machine eg broadcasting via XDMCP without first logging in to this host. Under CDE, this would be found under options-->remote host. The reason for the question is that I created a boot cd for 10.3, which gave me problems after the install (I am new to OpenSuse). I then tried to install 10.2 using the 10.3 boot cd which failed the checksum, I believe it to be because of the different release versions. I've changed my sound card from an on board one to an Audigy SE. But I had the unpleasant surprise to see that i have no sound options of kdetv. In kdetv sound options i see the sound card but I can't see any mixer devices to control the sound of my tv tuner. Also the card is working very well in other applications. With the previous card it worked very well. I've got three odd issues: 1. ctrl+alt+backspace doesn't kill X any more. 2. When gdm starts, my synaptics touchpad works. After I get logged in and the gnome session manager is running, the touchpad quits working and I can only use the trackpoint device.
