I have tried 11b2 on the laptop Compaq Presario V5030 AMD Turion64 ATI
graphics(yuk) rtl8139 network card and the inevitble Broadcom wirless and
have had some strange to say the least happenings.

11b2 cant set the network up at all just refuses to get a gateway completely
DHCP system with all other machines behaving perfectly (even a flippin
windBlows machine whne pulgged into the network works instantly)

The wirless thing i expect hassles with thats nothing new but now it gets
weired if i run KDE3 it is ok as root or user, If i TRY to run KDE4 as root
it will run once then never again and as a user it refuses point blank to
run at all it gives no error reports in any of the logs , It is totally
brain DEAD the ability to change the desktop to your likes is non existant
this machine has 1.5Gb of ram with 256Mb on the vodeo card and the single time
i can get KDE4 to run it is so SLOOWWWWWWWWWWWW i take a shower whilst
waiting for a program to load even something small like Kmahjongg (KDE4
version) takes forever then try the same on KDE3 and bang it's there quick
as you like .

KDE4 will not be ready for the 11 release but the idiots in there ivory
towers have a preset ajenda and they will not change they have got to try and
release something that is worse than darn windBloWs Pista just so that the
MS community dont feel threatened .

The installition choices are ALL wrong we should hve KDE3 at the top then
Gnome then with a warning that is still Alpha code and very unstable KDE4
Suse is a KDE distribution stick to it with a GOOD and WORKING version of KDE
not an Alpha code or as has been said rename 11 to 10.4 and release 11 when
there is a FULLY working STABLE FULLY FEATURED version of KDE4 to use

I know there are people in suse that are going to get the hump about messages
likr this it is known as tough . there are certain people within suse that
need to learn a few manners some of the replies i have seen from within suse
on this list are to say the least impolite and Germanic for want of a better
description.

I have been using suse since the early days and have always liked it but the
way it is going now makes me wonder it really does .

thats enought for now

Pete .
