one thing & one thing only-- mail comments from our website (on Linux/ Apache) to our Exchange mailserver (on a different box, naturally). All default settings, far as I can remember (& I was shocked how easy it was to set up!) The web comments are mailed both to our Exchange server & to my home address (a POP @ Speakeasy.net). The messages to the Exchange box arrive anywhere from instantly, to several hours late. POP receives everything more or less instantly. Here's a sample of the syslog errors we're getting: Feb 25 09:59:25 www postfix/smtp[17620]: 3A513B5906E2: to=<me>, relay=mail.place.com[X.X.X.X]:25, delay=300, delays=0.12/0.03/300/0, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (conversation with mail.place.com[X.X.X.X] timed out while receiving the initial server greeting) Feb 25 09:59:25 www postfix/smtp[17620]: 3A513B5906E2: to=<personnel >, relay= mail.place.com[X.X.X.X]:25, delay=300, delays=0.12/0.03/300/0, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (conversation with mail.place.com[X.X.X.X] timed out while receiving the initial server greeting) Having checked around on these errormessages & found precious little on google, it *seems* like hyperactive spam precautions on the Exchange server are quite possibly to blame. Other mail (esp. auto- website e-mail) arrives delayed as well, though there's some contention on this point w/our Exchange box admin, surprise surprise. Anything to be done about this from a Postfix perspective? Messages are being sent via "|/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -oi" in a perl script, & it looks like the fake "From:" header doesn't make it through, if that's any help-- Any advice/ideas very much appreciated!
