Yes, but the code for verify(8) already exists, and the protocol is suitable (returns cached failure results, ...). So one can just use a second service running the same code in a separate instance of the verify daemon (using a separate database). If one really wants to make these more separate, the clone service is a separately compiled binary with different timeout and database location parameter names, so that no "-o ..." master.cf overrides are required. -- Viktor.
