I have been trying to test my Postfix installation on FreeBSD 6.2 I tried sending e-mail to the host at the address of this message. Here are some e-mail to root messages on this machine: (names changed to protect the innocent) 4FC294F1065 2526 Sun Nov 11 13:49:20 MAILER-DAEMON (connect to domain.tld[ip address]: Connection refused) root 84E684F101B 337 Mon Nov 12 19:36:49 root (connect to domain.tld[ip address]: Connection refused) jekillen 0EAE64F1021 349 Tue Nov 13 19:46:40 jekillen (connect to domain.tld[ip address]: Connection refused) jekillen And the ip addresses are public static ip addresses. I have mynetworks_style set to subnet. If I understand this correctly, It governs what messages will be relayed from what addresses but not what messages are addressed directly to the user@$mydomain Why am I getting these connection refused messages? Particularly, why messages generated locally and addressed to root. I think I am swimming in a pond with too many things going on. Thank you In advance for info, suggestions, advice Jeff K
