quite worked out properly. anyway, sometime during my absense the following error has begun to appear: "postfix/qmgr: warning: connect to transport vacation: Connection refused". unfortunately, all of my manuals and references are still in storage, so i'm kind of limited with my local resources. i've tried using google to figure it out, i've read some of the online Postfix documentation, and i'm still confused. my thinking is that one of the users may have set up an automated reply using vacation, and either it's missing or damaged. trying to use the vacation command on this server was resulting in "command not found". i've re-installed the vacation package, the command executes properly, but the error in postfix/qmgr persists. apparently at the same time that this error appeared, clamav and smapassassin also appear to have stopped functioning properly. i don't think this is related to the transport vacation problem, but i could be mistaken, so i wanted to mention them both at once and see what the experts think. anyway, with both of those enabled in the amavisd-new cofig, a lot of mail (but not all) is delayed, and in many cases never delivered. with those disabled, mail appears to be delivered normally. it wasn't doing these things before i left, but after a month away, i'm having trouble determining what changed. here are the requisite configuration files: postconf -n http://www.ocse9.com/postconf-n.11142007.txt postfinger http://www.ocse9.com/postfinger.11142007.txt saslfinger -s http://www.ocse9.com/saslfinger-s.11142007.txt if you have trouble accessing those, let me know. i can send these files individually as needed. thanks in advance for any help. --Mac No virus found in this outgoing message.
