Hi all,
I inherited a postfix server running on a openBSD box. Postfix version
1.1.3, OpenBSD version is 3.0-current.
Mail client is Outlook 2003/2007, connected to an Exchange box on a
Win2K3 server. The Exchange server relays all mail to the postfix.
Recently we changed the provider. With the old provider we used a
relay host via a dialup line to send mail. With the new provider we
send out mail to the appropriate MX for the reciepient's domain.
With some domains we have a problem. We can't send mail. We get the
error message "Connection timed out while sending message body" or
"host mail.abcdefgh.com[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] said: 421 mail.abcdefgh.com
SMTP incoming data timeout - closing connection."
I recorded the packets with etherreal and found out that our postfix
neither send the RCPT TO nor the DATA command. I just starts to send
the message body after receiving the OK for the MAIL FROM line.
This behaviour is for a few domains only. It does obviously not depend
on the sender. It does not depend on the size of the message.
