Hi,

We have recently migrated a busy mail server from a old Sparc system
(running Solaris 7) to a new Intel Server PC running the latest Solaris
9.

The system crashed this evening and I noticed this message on the
console:

Postfix: Too many open files

The system had frozen completely so I had to power cycle it.

Having read through the Solaris docco I think the file descriptor limit
has been raised to > 65k, which I would have thought was enough.

The system frequently has to process ~ 50k messages per hour 24 x 7

I'm pretty desperate to get this fixed so any suggestions would be much
appreciated.

TIA

Shaun
