Check if this lib is installed correctly;

ldconfig -v | grep mysql

Ex:

root@houston:~# ldconfig -v | grep mysql
/usr/local/lib/mysql:
libmysqlclient.so.15 -> libmysqlclient.so.15.0.0
libmysqlclient_r.so.15 -> libmysqlclient_r.so.15.0.0
