Hello,

I just want to make sure I understand what happened here, and what RULE
created the bounce.

The error shows:

Jul 12 16:33:12 pluto postfix/smtpd[9659]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from
mail1a.Thebank.com[66.16.166.167]: 554 5.7.1 <MTL01PPSMTP01.THEBANK.COM>:
Helo command rejected: Host not found; from=<Matthew>
to=<Mario> proto=ESMTP helo=<MTL01PPSMTP01.THEBANK.COM>

The reason for the bounce was that MTL01PPSMTP01.THEBANK.COM does not have a
DNS entry ( name has been changed so it won't resolve for you here ).

And I think that reject_unknown_helo_hostname was the rule?

Or was it reject_invalid_helo_hostname?

Also if they simply had thebank.com that would have allowed it to work
right?

Thinking this is an exchange box.

Thanks!

Joey
