SpamAssassin for years now recently, I have been getting complaints that some of the email that is sent by "Authenticated Users" is being marked by SpamAssassin as SPAM. Here's what happens, They go home and send an email from home. Their home internet connection is a different carrier than ours. They send a mail the mailserver authenticates the transaction using SSL & TLS after the mail is sent to the mailserver from outlook. The mailserver then starts procmail which starts spamassassin Spam Assassin then marks the email as spam. example spam headers === START CLIP X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.1.7 (2006-10-05) on spamd1.telehouse.com X-Spam-Level: *** X-Spam-Status: Yes, score=3.9 required=3.5 tests=BAYES_00,HTML_90_100, HTML_MESSAGE,RCVD_IN_NJABL_DUL,RCVD_IN_PBL,RCVD_IN_SORBS_DUL, SARE_GIF_ATTACH,SHORT_HELO_AND_INLINE_IMAGE autolearn=no version=3.1.7 X-Spam-Report: * 0.1 HTML_90_100 BODY: Message is 90% to 100% HTML * -2.6 BAYES_00 BODY: Bayesian spam probability is 0 to 1% * [score: 0.0000] * 0.0 HTML_MESSAGE BODY: HTML included in message * 1.4 SARE_GIF_ATTACH FULL: Email has a inline gif * 2.0 RCVD_IN_SORBS_DUL RBL: SORBS: sent directly from dynamic IP address * [24.164.147.191 listed in dnsbl.sorbs.net] * 1.9 RCVD_IN_NJABL_DUL RBL: NJABL: dialup sender did non-local SMTP * [24.164.147.191 listed in combined.njabl.org] * 0.0 RCVD_IN_PBL RBL: Received via a relay in Spamhaus PBL * [24.164.147.191 listed in zen.spamhaus.org] * 1.0 SHORT_HELO_AND_INLINE_IMAGE Short HELO string, with inline image +++ END CLIP What I want to do is if the connection is a authenticated user put a header in the mail so I can put a compare in procmail if the mail was authenticated, not to check the mail for spam Richard Bates
