I found by putting target="_search" in a link in the main window I can
load my own content into the Firefox, Flock and Netscape sidebars.
This also works in IE6.

What I would like to know is what JavaScript snippet would it take to
close the sidebar from a link in the main window. Don't tell me to
click on the "X" in the sidebar. I already know that. I want to
control it from a link.

Another goody would be to be able to toggle it open and closed.

I have no intention of using this to load worms into anyone's browser.
I wouldn't know how anyway. It will only be used in my own pages that
no one ever sees but me.

I have a startup page that loads in there with a search form that
allows me to search any one of 400 search engines, point and click
access to all my accounts, internet tools like whois etc, and a
multitude of other tools that I use everday to make web surfing and
web design more pleaseant. All of this is more convenient in the
sidebar.

If you don't want to answer it here email it to me at
