Seamonkey "hangs up" and won't completely load a page

Hello

I just downloaded Seamonkey a few weeks ago and it always "hangs up"
where it will not completely load all the information on a page.
Mainly, it seems to be the advertisements that won't finish off. The
page is completely functional, but this "hang up" is causing my
computer to run slow in opening other pages or functions. I'll get a
messsage on the very lower left of my pscreen saying " waiting
for ..." or "transferring data from...." and it just stays there,
forever! never completes. Same with the green status bar indicator
on the very lower right side. It will get 95% complete and the last
bar or two will not complete, so it stays there forever too. I had
the same problem with Mozilla when I ran it too.

Anyone have any clue how o resolve this problem? Should I uninstall
and reinstall Seamonkey? Hooping not to do that as it means work
resetting all the bookmarks, lots of which won't be imported from IE
as I don't use all them with IE.

Are there any add ons or programs that might help?

PS I'm using windows xp home and I just upgraded from 512k to 1gig
memory, thinking that might help, but it doesn't. I use IE 6.0 and
firefox as well. Firefox occassionally hangs up like this, and I
can't recall if IE does (I don't use it much if I can help iit!) I
run zonealarm free firewall (was hoping I could enter the web address
of the offending ad sites into the firewall and deny them, but the
free version does not allow me to do so). I scan regularly for
antiviruses and just went through 30+ hours of trying every antivirus,
spyware and adware program I could find. I come up clean all the time.
