Hi folks.
If any of you has got deep knowledge of how Firefox works I'd appreciate
some ideas on the following problem

Firefox regularly causes something that stops all web browsing . This is
the history of it.

- It appeared after I changed my HD with a fresh Windows XP Pro installation
- Suddenly all web services can come to a halt. I think that it happens more
often on heavily java coded sites.
- A new url might load something odd from the site just visited or just report
HTTP/1.0 404 Object Not Found
- Mostly there will be no response entering a new url. The Status line shows
Ready.
- Neither IE nor Opera get out on the Internet after the halt.
- A DNS flush does not cure and neither does a browser cache flush
- Mail and ftp services are both intact and work without any problem after
a web browsing halt
- Pings give correct responses
- The only way to get the browser back is a re-boot.

It seems that it is only Firefox that causes the browsing halt. I have tried
Forefox 3.0beta2

Thanks.
Erik L.
