I don't think a developer could anticipate what trouble I've caused
for myself.

When I first loaded FF, it asked me if I wanted to import bookmarks
etc from Netscape navigator. I checked "yes." That was simple.

The problem is that I had a much older version of Netscape 6 on my
computer as well as the Netscape 8 version I was using as my primary
browser. FF imported the much older set of bookmarks etc. How do I
substitute the newer file?

Here's what I tried.

I deleted the old Netscape and told FF to import bookmarks. Still the
old bookmarks.

I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. Still old bookmarks (how did
they do that!)

I went to the profiles file in Netscape and found the bookmarks HTML
file and copied it and pasted it into the Foxfire profile file (yes,
after I deleted the older FF bookmarks file. Still the old bookmarks.

Suggestions?
