It's not crashing because of libgcc. Look, I run a Norwegian version of Firefox 2.0.0.10 on FC6. I've written my own rpm spec and if you like, I'll package whatever language version you want and put it on my ftp server for you - write me off list (off group ;)). It should run as-is on FC2. Also, it installs to /usr/lib as per LFH standards and gives you nice icons on your Gnome panel :) There's just one thing: FC6 has an /etc/ld.so.conf.d and my rpm does things with that. I don't know if FC2 has that directory, but you need your ldconfig utility to use that directory.
