Hi..I think I am nearly there .... But I think I am not doing the changes to the Profiles.ini file properly in notepad..anyway heres what I have now?? [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/juwjj67y.default AS Per the Instructions 1,2,3,4,5. I created a newprofile folder WITHIN the existing profile folder ...and named it newprofile...I copy/ pasted ALL the files from my previous Profile folder (prior to my reinstall) into the newprofile folder.....I created.... I then found the profiles.ini file ...opened it in notepad and tryed to make the changes as stipulated in 4 (below) ....but as you can see wjen i started /restarted Firefox mozilla the profiles.ini file (when read in notepad ) showed what is above at start of my postings...... I would be sincerely grateful if someone could just put me right here ....IS the procedure I have done right and if it is it must have something to do with my changing of the ini file in notepad which was [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=newprofile IsRelative=0 Path=Profiles/newprofile Thanks for any help ..Ron NZ. 1. Create a new, empty folder in the desired profile location with the name you wish to use for the new profile, for example, D:\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\newprofile 2. Copy the entire contents of the profile folder you are moving into the new profile folder you just created. 3. If you copied the old profile from a CD, remove the write-protection from the copied files. 4. Find the profiles.ini file (it will be located in the Firefox or Thunderbird default profile folder path) and open it in a text editor. * (Optional) Change the "Name=" line to the name of the new profile folder you created, e.g., Name=newprofile * Change "IsRelative=1" to "IsRelative=0" * Change the "Path=" line to the actual location of the new profile folder, e.g., Path=D:\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\newprofile. 5. If you are moving a profile from its default location, the original profile folder can now be removed. _______________________________________________ support-firefox mailing list support-firefox https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-firefox To unsubscribe, send an email to support-firefox-request?subject=unsubscribe
