I wish I could remember exactly when the problem started, at least 3 or 4
updates ago: if I try to close more than 2 tabs FF starts to hang for 20 to
30 seconds before coming back and allowing any other activity. This
coincides with a CPU surge of up to 65%. If I have a handful or more tabs
open and use the "close all other tabs" option I crash FF completely.
Also I have to kill FF from Process Explorer almost evry time after closing.
It remains in the background at around 50% CPU.
Lately (since 2.0.0.6) FF can behave similarly after a download, closure of
a pop-up, even on filling in a form. The hangs are becoming random.

I run XP home SP2, McAffee security Suite, Tea Timer, Windows Virus
Protection

I have tried:

Safe Mode with all add ons disabled
New Profile
Total uninstall, delete of residual files (except bookmarks + passwords) and
complete new re-install with new .exe

Am now really frustrated with FF and thinking of moving on to Opera or
something else. This is its last chance...
