Again, why worry about an IP address? It could be a dynamic one and you
end up blocking someone else anyway. And I do believe that a good hacker
can camoflage his IP in the first case.

Why bother chasing down SENDING IPs, when the web site is right there,
in the spam?

You close down/shut down/block an IP, the spammer doesn't care he just
uses another. However, shut down the Website, where he makes money, and
it is a different thing altogether. That costs him/her big time. Without
the website, the spam is useless.

The web site can attempt to camoflage itself, but that usually means a
redirection site - and then you get two for one! <grin>

I have yet to run into a host that will not respond and shut down
spamming websites. China takes about two weeks, but then, so does AT&T.
Sorry, I DID run into one ISP that wouldn't - they themselves were
simply disconnected by their backbone instead.

Most ISPs, connection hosts will shut down an IP for abuse, that's not
the issue. The point being that shutting one down, for whatever cause,
is not going to cost the spammer money. After all, he isn't paying for
the IP essentially. A web site on the other hand, he/she IS paying for
(most free sites or home pages are really good at preventing/controlling
spam sites). Close the web site and you hit the spammer where he/she
lives. Do it several times and you can put him out of business.
