It was removed due to the fact it was considered "clutter" on the
toolbar and it was notoriously unreliable. There is an extension
available to put it back in FF 2.0 but a much easier way to handle it is
to have a link to your e-mail program on your Windows QuickLaunch
toolbar .one click and it is open and ready to use.
