Subject:What kernel, glibc version and/or configure flags for clean testsuite results on i686/x86_64?

So I'm noticing I get several failures on i686-unknown-linux-gnu and
x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu that some other people aren't seeing.

On x86_64 I get lots of failures from libmudflap.
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2008-02/msg01577.html

These results are don't have them:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2008-02/msg01569.html

On i686 I get errors from gcc.dg/vect/vect-117.c on mainline and 4.3:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2008-02/msg01579.html
I also gets lots of mudflap errors again.

On i686 on the 4.2 branch, I get gcc.target/i386/sse-18.c:
http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/2008-02/msg01527.html
Plus more mudflap and a few libffi errors:

I'm wondering if there is a certain patch level for the kernel, glibc that
I need, or certain configure flags are necessary.

On i686 I get this from uname -a:
Linux gcc03 2.6.12-10-686-smp #1 SMP Fri Nov 18 12:27:41 UTC 2005 i686 GNU/Linux

on x86_64 I get:
Linux gcc12 2.6.18-4-vserver-amd64 #1 SMP Fri May 4 01:21:52 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
