I agree. I know about the 1-idea-per-patch doctrine, but I think that
for something like this a big patch that is basically "make gen* compile
with a C++ compiler" is really 1 idea. And, I certainly think that the
patches should be subjected to the usual testing.

Thomas, you will have to work through the paperwork process with the
FSF. I hope you choose to do that, as everyone agrees that this is good
stuff to have!
